FME Data Virtualization turns any FME workflow into a secure, OpenAPI-compliant REST API. Point it at your GIS, asset register, database or IoT feed and you get a governed endpoint with authentication, role-based permissions and intelligent caching — full create, read, update and delete, synchronous or asynchronous. No custom code, no separate API gateway, no replicating data into yet another store.

Connect your data to AI safely
FME Flow is now an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. Any workspace can be registered as an MCP tool that AI assistants and agents from Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot to discover and call directly. Your AI gets controlled access to real, current enterprise data; you keep governance: OAuth, per-tool permissions, and a full audit log of every call. FME Flow runs on-premises or in your private cloud, sensitive data never has to leave your infrastructure.
Going the other way, the MCPCaller transformer lets FME workflows consume tools from any MCP-enabled system. Whichever AI models your organisation adopts next year, the integration layer underneath them stays the same.
